Telecommunications Quality Auditor

Location: Reading/Field
Salary: £35k- £48k
Job Type: Full Time, Perm

Providing services to its customers in the UK for the past 5 years, our client has extensive expertise in delivering a wide range of services and solutions for both fixed and wireless network infrastructure. With a successful track record in some of the biggest Telecoms projects in the country, they are experiencing a period of growth and expansion.

They are currently looking for a Quality Auditor, who will be required to assist the Company’s Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC) and provide inspections reports to meet with the company and national wireless standards. The Quality Auditor will monitor and observe production operations and equipment to ensure that specifications are being met in line with the core standards. The individual will work under the guidance of the SHEQ Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

• Completes Quality audits on engineer completed installations across various projects.
• Aids in clearing defects when practicable, including clearing minor defects during an audit and reporting back on SHEQ.
• Mobilises where necessary to assist with targeted auditing in designated problem areas.
• Conducts tasks allocated by the SHEQ Manager to ensure contractual requirements are fulfilled.
• Completes Site Assessment Checklists
• Completing Root Cause Analysis as required
• Gives feedback to engineers on any issues found on audits.
• Reports to the SHEQ Manager to arrange individual coaching with a Performance Improver, when required.
• Acts as a Quality representative on team briefings and gives feedback on current occurring issues.
• Supports the Area SHEQ Manager and Performance Improvers on investigation of reported issues.
• Liaises with Area Managers/Supervisors and engineers when reporting issues.
• Liaises with Area Managers to resolve Q issues raised on local area issue register.

Requirements

• Experience in a Telecoms or Construction environment and understanding of site activities and planning
• Good technical abilities and thinking
• Experience in a Telecoms environment
• Clear driving license
• Quick and logical thinking
• The ability to work well under pressure
• Good computer skills
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
• Pay attention to detail and flexibility
• Good communication skills.
• Very well organised.
• Working in a team environment.

Essential Qualifications and Certificates

• Professional certification, such as Quality Engineer, or Quality Auditor
• 3 years or more experience in Telecommunication as a rigger or field engineer.
• Superb computer competence, including database management
• Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices, version control practices and defect management practices.
• Confident communication skills
• Experience working within a Quality Auditing position within the telecoms industry.
• Telecoms industry knowledge

Desirable (would be an advantage)

• Working at Height (Rooftop).
• RF Awareness.
• First Aid (EFAAW).
• Asbestos Awareness.
