Job Description

Our client is a leading provider of communication and infrastructure services within the telecoms, broadcast, networking and wireless industries.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Technical Engineer will build, configure and monitor the Count Centre as per the Council Implementation Plan and support the Count Week activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the planning and organisation of the Count week activities
  • Completing the set-up of Count Centre is as per the Council Implementation Plan
  • Update the Count Week Runbook tasks status
  • Performing the daily checklist on each day during Count Week
  • Completing the data extraction process when requested by the Manager/Count Centre Manager/RO/DRO (i.e. person acting/coordinating the Count activities)
  • Completing the eCount system Cleardown, backups and restore activities
  • Copying the data after each Contest Count to the unencrypted USB
  • Copying the “end of election” data to two encrypted portable drives (with Keylock)
  • Enrolment of the Smartcards as per the Council team requirements
  • Running of the “Pre-Count” processes when requested by the Manager/Count Centre Manager/RO/DRO (i.e. person acting/co-ordinating the Count activities)
  • Printing of the reports “start of election” and “Count”. Also, any other adhoc print requests by the Manager/Count Centre Manager/RO/DRO (i.e. person acting/co-ordinating the Count activities)
  • Act as a single point of contact for the eCounting build, configuration, security, network and setup activities
  • Track and manage the devices used during the Count Week (e.g. USB, Smartcard and portable encrypted drive)
  • Issue and Incident management at the Count Centre
  • Escalations are handled in a timely manner
  • Work closely with Managers, Support Hub Issue Resolution Centre (IRC) and Incident Management Team (IMT) members to resolve the Count Centre issues
