Job Title: Senior Planner

Location: Longstanton

Salary: £42,229  – £52,559 per annum (plus 25 days holiday per annum)

Job Type: Full Time, Perm (40 hours)



Our client is a leading provider of expertise to their clients to maintain and continue the development of the infrastructure of both highways and telecommunications sectors throughout the UK.


They are currently looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join their team in Longstanton. The Senior Planner will report to the Head of Commercial and work closely with the Operation Team and SQS.


The role will be to provide the requisite analysis of delay and disruption events across all areas of the project, in conjunction with the site teams to substantiate additional time and effect of compensation events.


Role Requirements

  • Preparation of programmes and discrete technical narratives to support the programme submissions in conjunction with the project teams
  • Presenting to the project Lead/SQS to ensure ‘fair’ entitlement is recovered on behalf of the Contractor via the Project Manager
  • Ensuring that the programme impacts are understood and can be fully evaluated particularly in relation to time related costs
  • Working alongside the client programme representatives to ensure agreed impact and entitlement prior to final submission
  • Ensuring that submissions are robust to support entitlement to avoid conflict/disputes
  • Ensuring that the programme content is functionally compliant with the planning procedures and guidance
  • Identifying planning scope, major constraints, and contract requirements
  • Identifying major quantities and factors affecting the programme
  • Establishing and agreeing with Operations and Estimator key methods of construction, sequencing, installation, and commissioning


Candidate Requirements

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communications skills
  • In depth practical experience of Primavera P6 software and other planning software
  • Experience in change management, claims preparation and forensic planning
  • Experience in the various forms of delay and schedule analysis and report writing
  • Strong IT skills using Primavera, MS Project, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Flexibility and demonstrable creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required and ability to works as a member of a team
  • Excellent written skills are essential
  • In depth knowledge of the NEC forms of contract
  • Knowledge of dispute resolution methods, in particular adjudication
  • Degree qualified or equivalent



Professional Qualifications/Training

  • Preferably educated to degree level.
  • Background in civil engineering, telecoms, or utilities
  • Experience of NEC forms of contract
