Job Title: Junior Surveyor

Location: Based at Cambridge Office

Salary: £20,000-£25,000

Job Type: Full Time, Perm

 

Our client are a dynamic, delivery-focussed project management company providing end to end solutions for the UK’s mobile and fixed line network operators.

 

Due to their continued growth and expansion, they are currently looking for Junior Surveyors to join their team based at their office in the Cambridgeshire area.

The Junior Surveyor will attend MDU Site locations and conduct full non- intrusive surveys to enable the production of designs for FTTP by the planning teams.

 

Role Requirements

Project Delivery

  • Conduct site surveys and provide detailed information to ensure that a design can be produced to meet technical needs and client requirements whilst trying to maintain aesthetics.
  • Consistently travelling to survey customer locations to conduct cable and civils route surveyors.
  • Maintain excellent communication with project coordinators and Senior Surveyor.
  • Support queries from the Planning Team members in order that they can create and develop design packs to support survey details.
  • Develop and maintain excellent internal relationships.
  • Develop an understanding of commercial viability of solutions.
  • Understand and mitigate against risks, deployment issues and escalations through the survey & design life cycle
  • Be prepared to take accreditation courses relative to the client expectations and industry standard.
  • To conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times
  • To follow all Health & Safety regulations including the wearing of appropriate PPE
  • To ensure all survey equipment supplied to you (including vehicle and IT equipment) is kept in good, clean order at all times.

 

Accurate & Effective Project Governance:

  • Ensure project deliverables (the survey return) is managed and delivered in conjunction with strategic partners focusing on Health & Safety, time, cost and quality.
  • Work with Senior Surveyors, and Project Coordinators in the delivery of project to performance targets and deadlines
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and appropriately stored
  • Provide daily/weekly/monthly reporting including KPI performance and quality achievement
  • Collate information on delivery to report to Project Coordinators and Senior Surveyor

 

 

Cost Management:

  • Learn and apply a cost-effective solution for the project.
  • Gain an understanding of commercial viability of solutions

 

 

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • A valid permit to work in the UK
  • A desire to learn.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Able to identify potential risks to health & safety and cost and escalates or proactively manages where necessary
  • Excellent I.T. and database skills.
  • Problem solver/solution finder to specific and generic issues.
  • Works well within a team and contributes with regular team interaction.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar role in the Telecommunications industry.
  • Reasonable technical knowledge of Telecommunications networks.
